The City of Albany continually strives to meet the needs of all Albany citizens. This webpage will become the primary source of information on obtaining assistance with accessibility-related questions, comments, and requests.

What's New:

Draft Phase I Disability Access Transition Plan Available for Public Review

The City of Albany has completed a draft plan to resolve accessibility issues in several of its public buildings. The plan includes findings from evaluations conducted in 15 different City facilities, identifies physical obstacles in each that limit accessibility, and proposes to make the areas accessible through the stated methods and timeframes.

The plan is also available in hard copy at City Hall at the Community Development Department service counter. Alternative formats will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request.

Comments should be in writing and may be submitted here, or by mailing to: Disability Access Coordinator, P.O. Box 490, Albany OR 97321. Alternative means of filing comments, such as personal interviews, will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request. Comments will be accepted through June 30, 2010.

The draft Phase I Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan is part of an ongoing effort to increase and ensure accessibility in the City's programs and activities.
