Doing Business in Albany:
Taxis & Medical Transports

Taxi companies and nonemergency medical transportation providers must be licensed to do business by the state of Oregon. The City of Albany also requires taxi operators and medical transport providers to certify any vehicle being used within the Albany city limits.

Taxi certification includes:

  1. A completed business license application.
  2. Business license fee of $100 (can be prorated by calendar year).
  3. Proof of business registry from Oregon Secretary of State.
  4. Proof of insurance meeting minimum requirements and listing each vehicle covered.
  5. Completed certificate application for each vehicle.
  6. Certificate fee of $240 for each vehicle (cannot be prorated). Must be renewed by January 1 each year.

Medical transport licensing includes:

  1. A completed business license application.
  2. Business license fee of $100 (can be prorated by calendar year).
  3. Proof of insurance meeting minimum requirements and listing each vehicle covered.
