Plan Review Standards
COMPLIANCE WITH SPECIALTY CODES
Plan review staff are certified by the State
of Oregon in all codes administered by the Division. The plans examiners
review and approve structural, mechanical, fire/life safety, energy,
disabled access, and manufactured dwelling plans. Plumbing plans
are reviewed and approved by the City of Albany Plumbing Inspector
when applicable. Electrical plans are reviewed and approved by the
City of Albany Electrical Inspector when applicable. When necessary,
the City of Albany maintains an intergovernmental agreement for the
electrical program with Linn County, 300 4th Avenue SW, Albany, OR
97321, (541)967-3816) for mutual assistance and support for plan
review and inspection services.
The Division contracts with an outside plan review firm to assist during periods of peak workload or in specialized areas such as hazardous piping. A copy of the current firm’s employees and their qualifications are available upon request.
Information regarding the plan review staff, including current certifications and continuing education records, is available upon request to any interested party.
Residential plans (one and two family and manufactured home) are generally reviewed and issued within two weeks from the date that the complete application, plan information, and approvals from other departments are received.
Applicants of all other permit applications that have submitted for in-depth plan review are generally notified within three weeks from the date the complete application, plan information, and corrections have been received. When applications requiring in-depth reviews and have plan deficiencies are submitted, the staff generally notifies the applicant of the deficiencies within four to six weeks.
All above applicants will be notified by fax or phone when the permit is ready to be issued.
