The Transitional Box style is also referred to as the Classic Box, Decorated Box, and the Dormered Box. The chief characteristic is its box-like form. It is closely related to the Colonial Revival style but a simplified version. The main characteristics of the style include:

  1. Hipped roof.
  2. Dormer window facing the street.
  3. Box-like shape.
  4. Prominent entry.
