MEETING NOVEMBER 17,1998
REPORT ON: "SERVICES": TO NORTH ALBANY
THOSE WHO SIGNED THE INTEREST SHEET OR FILLED OUT A QUESTIONAIRRE ARE AS FOLLOWS:
The main topic which was agreed on was that "yes" we need commercial development in the No. Albany area. Where - not sure but agreed the most desirable area would be a location close to both Springhill and No. Albany Road. Preferably where convenient for both roads. The location needs to be buffered from residential areas. Some suggestions were: North Albany Rd. and Hickory near the current commercial designated area; on North Albany Road out further.
If possible the services should be provided in one place 'in order to be convenient to those using the services. Did not want multiple location _ one place for gas another for groceries etc.
SERVICES: The following are the services most desired:
Gas Station - Competitive Grocery Store - Competitive - like Safeway/Albertsons Family Dining Restaurant Video Store Many more were mentioned but not *included hear. (see questionnaire recap)
TYPE OF SERVICES:

TRANSPORTATION:
The area of transportation is of great concern to anyone/anybody that travels the above area. Those at the meeting want this problem addressed soon and would like to have "answers soon". This is a separate issue but should be done in conjunction with the bridge problem.
AREAS OF CONCERN
1. Riverside Drive - better lighting
2. Fire Station needs to have dimmer lights for sake of entire neighborhood. Who will address that problem?
3. Bike Paths -- they were paid for and when are they going in? Evidently they were paid for and now overgrown. Why?
4. Need more trees in No. Albany.
5. Lighting needs to have a smaller profile.
