The proposed amendment to ADC Section 12.300 adds a new requirement regarding accessibility around clustered mailboxes. Passage of a new state law requires each city in the state to adopt standards for clustered mailboxes within the boundaries of city streets and rights-of-way that conform to the standards contained in the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code. The new state law takes effect June 1, 2012. The proposed amendment requires that clustered mailboxes be located on an accessible path and include a 72-inch minimum accessible turning space.
