Albany Parks and Recreation Camps are back for another exciting summer filled with games, swimming, adventures, and fun! These camps are perfect opportunities for those children who are involved in many activities but still want to go to camp a few days a week. It is a great way to keep your child physically active and engaged during the summer months while building their social interaction skills. They'll enjoy a wide variety of fun-filled themed camps including games, sports, arts, crafts, and more! Most camps will visit the COOL! Pool in the afternoons for water fun. Many of our camps include field trip adventures, while others involve performances or specialty acts participating in the camp. Check out the excited places we'll be visiting. Morning and afternoon snacks as well as lunch will be provided. Your child will also receive a camp T-shirt. THE GREAT OUTDOORS: Ages 8-11

Explore things that slither, creep, crawl, and fly while observing beauty in all things great and small! Come out and play in this camp that is all about the outdoors. We'll spend our time enjoying what Mother Nature has to offer through crafts and games while learning about everything from insects and rodents to trees, butterflies, and birds...Let your child's imagination run wild! Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day). We'll visit Peavey Arboretum for a hands-on exploration of amphibians and reptiles (live newts, frogs, and turtles!) We'll make a stop at Wildcat Park in Corvallis. Your child will kick off their shoes, put on their swimsuit, and celebrate the beginning of a fun-filled summer!

TIS NOT THE SEASON: Ages 8-11

It's beginning to look a lot like...Christmas, Independence Day, Halloween, and Saint Patrick's Day! Join us for a camp that celebrates every season and the festivities that go along with them! We will make fun crafts and snacks from different holidays and play terrific holiday games! Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day).

Monday-Wednesday  July 1-3          9am-4pm        $75/$100        Location: Maple Lawn

JUNGLE FEVER: Ages 8-11

Climb to new heights and unleash the jungle fever with this camp that is all about living it up with adventure. Spend the mornings creating fun jungle animal crafts and playing games guaranteed to be wild. Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day). We'll travel to Safari Sam's on Wednesday to release your inner jungle cat! *Camp starts at 8:30am on Wednesday, July 10.

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN: Ages 8-11

There's no need to have a kitchen nightmare when your little chef tries their hand with culinary creations! If your child loves making a mess in the kitchen and can't wait to be the next top chef, this is the camp for them! From fruit parfaits to pizza and other fabulous food delights, your child will gain an introduction to basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety. We'll decorate chef attire, create unique recipe holders, and play food games. Every sweet tooth knows you have to stay physically active, so we'll spend the afternoons in the COOL! Pool. (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day). A camp highlight will be a trip to John's Incredible Pizza (it's more than food...it is an experience!). Campers will tour the facilities and learn the entire process is done from dough rolling to cutting the pizza...they even get to make and eat their own. Everyone will get to play their favorite games in their incredible fun world. It will be educational and fun for our kids in the kitchen! SNACK TALES: Ages 5-7

The world can be filled with fun and adventure between the covers of a book! Your child will love making books come alive when they join Snack Tales! Both days will focus on a special children's book. Campers will enjoy story time, prepare a tasty snack, play games, and create a craft based upon the story of the day! We'll follow storybook themes.... and help your child explore the world with books. On Friday morning we'll visit the library for a story presentation and a tour with puppets. Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day).

Thursday-Friday         July 18-19       9am-4pm        $58/$78          Location: Maple Lawn

AMAZING ANIMALS: Ages 8-11

We're on the lookout for the furry, the feathered, and the fantastic this week as we explore the world in search of animals of all kinds. Join us in a fun-filled safari adventure. Explore the wild and learn about different animals. It is three great days of wildlife fun, crafts, games, and a trip to the Portland Zoo! Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day). *Wednesday, July 24 the camp starts at 8am.

COUNTRY FUN: Ages 8-11

Let's head down on the farm and explore the country way of life! From animals and farm equipment to music and more, your young buckaroo will get a glimpse of what country life is all about. Throughout the week campers will do crafts and have mini adventures and even learn how to square dance! Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day).

WEIRD SCIENCE: Ages 8-11

Let's mix things up! Experiment, discover, and invent as your young Einstein becomes a top-notch scientist this week. Test tubes bubble while the mad scientists work! Come explore the excitement! Create weird experiments, make a volcano or two, and get caught up in the magic of science and engineering. Lab coats are not required, but your child should dress to get messy! The discovery will continue with hands-on activities and a field trip to the OMSI. Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day).

RISING STARS: Ages 8-15

When school is out... Drama is in! Become acquainted with all the elements needed to create a stage production:  characterization, improvisation, costumes, makeup, scenery, lighting, etc.  No previous experience necessary! Want to build self-esteem and confidence in your child? Try this camp and you'll notice a "dramatic" difference. Campers will put on an awesome performance for family and friends on the last day of camp. Lunch and snacks will be provided!

TOP CHEF: Ages 8-11

Calling all budding cooks! You don't have to be Gordon Ramsey or Rachel Ray to roll up your sleeves, feel the dough between your fingers, and get ready to bake! We invite your child to take an exciting top chef journey with us. Taste new cuisine and enjoy fun, hands-on cooking as chefs make a little something to eat or take home. Please inform us of any food allergies upon registration. Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day).

GLAD HATTER TEA PARTY CAMP: Ages 5-7

Imagine your child's excitement when he or she attends a fabulous themed tea party! Children will have lots of fun dressing for adventure, creating theme crafts, eating delicious cookies, drinking tasty beverages, and sharing their dreams. This camp will capture your child's fantasies, imagination, and interest. On Friday, they'll enjoy a Mad Hatter tea party (we'll make outrageous hats to wear!) before a trip to the Enchanted Forest. Thursday will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel that day).

Thursday-Friday         August 15-16             9am-4pm        $82/$98          Location: Maple Lawn

AROUND THE WORLD: Ages 8-11

All our bags are packed and ready to go! This week we'll learn about various cultures and countries from around the world. What games do children from other countries play? We'll find new favorites along the way. Don't worry about bringing a passport; campers will have the chance to make their own as we travel through the week. We'll prepare and sample ethnic foods, meet with folks from different cultures, do crafts and more. Afternoons will be spent splashing it up at COOL! Pool (Bring a swimsuit and a towel each day).

OCEAN COMMOTIONS: Ages 8-11

Explore all the wonders of the water! Under the sea, down where it's wetter, down where its better...you'll explore the depths of Davy Jones locker and discover the fascinating life that exists in the ocean. We'll swim in COOL! Pool in the afternoons, play water games, do sea crafts, sand crafts, and more! We'll set sail for Florence, where we will explore 8 miles of dunes and 2 miles of beach on a Giant Dune Buggy tour. Enjoy time to play on the beach. Join us as we make a commotion in the ocean! Don't forget to bring a swimsuit and a towel each day. *Thursday, August 29 the camp starts at 8am

Tuesday-Thursday        August 27-29*  9am-4pm    $94/$125        Location: Swanson Park

• Children must wear their camp T-shirt on field trip days!
• Scholarships are available. Please contact us for more information.
• Lunches are provided through a partnership with Nutrition Services Summer Feeding Program...however, if your child has an allergy to a particular food, please plan on providing a lunch for them.
• Weekly schedules are tentative and subject to change!
• Please bring a swim suit and a towel each day
• Maximum ratio of staff to children is 1 to 10.
• Don't forget the sunscreen.

• Swanson Park is located at 712 Jackson Street SE
• North Albany Middle School at 1205 NW North Albany Rd.
