Park System Master Plans

Albany Parks and Recreation has prepared a new master plan to guide the development of parks and recreation facilities through 2015. The plan, created with assistance from MIG Inc., includes projects that renovate existing Albany parks, add new parks in neighborhoods currently not served, and continues pedestrian/bicycle trail development along waterways. Although the plan recommends projects to meet Albany's needs for the next 10 years, the document focuses on top-priority projects. Cost estimates are included, as well as a 5-year estimate of revenues from various funding sources.

The opinions of more than 700 Albany residents have been considered in the development of this plan.

The Albany City Council adopted of these plans in February 2006.
