Categories of Revenue:

Each year the City receives new revenue from taxes and fees and uses that money, along with unspent money carried over from the prior year, to pay for the expenses of operations.

The links provided under Catetories of Revenue look at the $92+ million of new FY2010-2011 annual revenue expected to be received by the city, and where that revenue is used.

In order to simplify a complex series of revenue streams and accounting requirements, we sorted and combined information to try to present it in a way that you can easily understand. The amounts you will see do not include the beginning balance (unspent money carried forward).

This simplification is not exact, but it can give you a view of what types of revenues are received, and which operations benefit from them. The annual budget document (454 pages, 25MB) provides highly detailed information on revenues and expenditures for all operations.
