2.44.010 Purpose.

In addition to the regular City Fire Department, there may be organized in the City an organization to be known as the Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Albany, the object and purpose of which shall be to aid and assist the City Fire Department in its duties. (Ord. 4535 § 1, 1982; Ord. 2195 § 1, 1950).

2.44.020 Membership.

Volunteers to the Fire Department of the City shall be composed of persons who volunteer their services to assist the City in the prevention and extinguishment of fires. Any volunteers shall be under the direction of the Chief of the Albany Fire Department, or his/her designee. (Ord. 5778 § 1, 2012; Ord. 5013 § 1, 1992; Ord. 4535 § 1, 1982; Ord. 2195 § 1, 1950).
