18.16.010 Demolition – Permit – Required.

Any demolition of any residential, commercial, industrial, or historic structure requires a demolition permit. A demolition permit is not required for residential accessory structures or structures exempt from building permits under this title. The cost of the demolition permit shall be adopted by resolution. 18.16.020 Demolition – Permit – Expiration.

Every demolition permit issued by the building official under the provisions of this title shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the demolition work is not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit. (Ord. 6013 § 2 (Exh. A), 2023; Ord. 5647 § 1 (Exh. A), 2006).

18.16.030 Demolition – Permit – Suspension or revocation.

The building official may, in writing, suspend or revoke a demolition permit issued under the provisions of this chapter whenever the permit is issued in error or on the basis of incorrect information supplied, or in violation of any code or regulation or any of the provisions of this chapter. 18.16.040 Demolition – Notification of utilities.

All utility companies, such as telephone, power, water, sewer, gas, and TV, shall be notified by the applicant to disconnect all of such services from the main lines to the building. (Ord. 6013 § 2 (Exh. A), 2023; Ord. 5647 § 1 (Exh. A), 2006).

18.16.050 Demolition – Cleanup.

All debris, stumps, broken concrete, brick and other material shall be completely removed from the premises. All ground surfaces shall be raked clean and graded evenly within 30 days of completion of demolition. (Ord. 6013 § 2 (Exh. A), 2023; Ord. 5647 § 1 (Exh. A), 2006).
