City cancellation notices due to COVID-19 and links to federal, state, and county agencies

At 7:01 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, Albany Public Works was notified of a water leak on Gale Street SW.  Upon investigation, crews found a leak on the 6” main. Water pressure had to be reduced in order to conduct repairs. The reduction in water pressure affected 16 homes served by this main.  Crews stabilized the main by 11 p.m. Crews returned to continue the repair by 8:30 a.m. today, Friday, January 4, and collected a coliform bacteria sample to verify water quality.

Due to a loss of pressure to the 16 residents served by this main, a boil-water notice was directly issued to these homes.  The boil notice was issued as a precaution and boiling should continue until the sample result comes back negative for coliform bacteria.  Residents will be notified of the sample result as soon as it becomes available.  We expect to receive the test result by Saturday morning, January 5.  For more information, contact Public Works Operations at 541-917-7600.
