We need your help! Join Albany Parks & Recreation and Willamette Restoration Volunteers in a native shrub planting event at Simpson Park on Saturday, March 17th from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. We will be planting a variety of bare root shrubs as part of a riparian restoration project to extend the native shrub and tree establishment along First Lake. Come help us restore and enhance this riparian habitat that will benefit local wildlife and pollinators, improve habitat connectivity, and prevent invasive species reestablishment and soil erosion.
This is a family-friendly event. Volunteers should bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes, and dress for inclement weather. Tools will be provided. We hope to see you there!
