Do you own a surveillance camera at your home or business that records video footage and want to help the police solve crime? Register the location of your camera with the Albany Police Department. The information will help police contact you quickly to identify criminals in your neighborhood. Police will not have access to online camera feed and camera access will be requested on a case-by-case basis.
Registration is entirely voluntary and all personal information gathered is for official use only and will not be released to any member of the general public.
The goal of the camera registry program is to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration between the Albany Police Department and the community we serve. Each registrant will receive a S.C.R.A.M. program sticker in the mail that can be posted in a visible area to alert others to your participation in the program.
