"Periwinkle Wade" Cleanup Event Periwinkle Creek is a shallow, meandering creek, flowing though South Albany along the
Periwinkle Trail. Winter storms have damaged bushes and trees along the creek, and need to be pruned. Invasive weeds must be removed. Rocks and other objects need to be moved to allow proper stream flow. This must be done while maintaining good habitat for the birds, fish and other creatures that call this place home.
Teens and adults looking to volunteer should park at the Periwinkle School lot. Tools and gloves will be provided. Some volunteers will be working along the creek edge. Those wanting to work in the stream itself will need to wear waterproof boots with good soles to protect their feet from possible sharp objects. Be sure to dress according to the weather.
